Finally, “The Younger Man’s Waltz” finishes the album off like a lullaby. On the surface, it’s a break up song. For me, its meaning has changed over the years. I see it now to be about the realization that this ideal woman I’ve projected onto a lot of people I’ve known has always been made up of the things that I wish I saw in myself, and that those things were already part of me, waiting for me to claim them.
